Davido Announces Three-Night National Theatre Residency in Lagos

Afrobeats star Davido has announced a three-night concert residency at the National Theatre in Lagos this December.

Dubbed “ORIADÉ: The Residency,” the event is scheduled to take place from December 17 to 19, 2026, giving fans three consecutive nights of performances from the Nigerian singer.

The announcement comes as Davido marks 15 years in music and prepares to bring his latest album, ORIADÉ, to the stage in Lagos.

According to reports, the residency will feature songs from the album alongside some of the hits that have defined Davido’s career. Special guest appearances are also expected across the three nights.

Davido wants to bring it home

Announcing the residency, Davido described the event as a homecoming, telling his fans that there was nowhere he would rather celebrate the milestone than Lagos.

The singer has also spoken about the importance of bringing major music productions back to Nigeria.

Speaking with CNN, Davido said the residency would help demonstrate that African artists can stage major international-level music events from home. He also highlighted the potential impact on Nigerian culture, businesses and tourism.

The National Theatre in Iganmu will serve as the venue for the three-day event. The recently renovated venue has a long association with Nigerian arts and culture and is now being used for major entertainment events.
